Water Testing

Spa Water Testing

Your spa water should always be within the following chemistry ranges:

  • pH: 7.2 - 7.8
  • Total Alkalinity: 100 - 120 ppm (parts per million)
  • Free Available Chlorine or Active Bromine Level: 3 – 5 ppm
  • Calcium Hardness: 150 – 200 ppm

You should drain your spa water every 30 - 90 days depending on frequency of use. We recommend that you periodically take a sample of your spa water to your local Rendézvous™ Dealer to test your water. You’ll also need to know the size of your spa when you visit your local Rendézvous™ Dealer so that they’ll be able to give specific dosage instructions.

Pool Water Testing

As you care for your pool, it is important for your pool water to be “balanced.” Keeping water chemistry balanced will prevent the water from becoming corrosive or forming scale deposits, both of which can damage pool equipment. Your pool water should always be within the following chemistry ranges:

  • pH: 7.2 - 7.8
  • Total Alkalinity: 80 – 120 ppm (parts per million)
  • Free Available Chlorine Level: 1 - 3 ppm
  • Calcium Hardness: 200 - 300 ppm

Take a sample of your pool water to your authorize HTH® EXTRA or GLB® Dealer regularly for a detailed water analysis. In addition, you’ll need to know the size of your pool, so that the Dealer will be able to give specific dosage instructions.
